2012 Medal Standings & Qualifications

ASPCA/Maclay Hunt Seat Medal
Fences 3'6", Riders 17 & under. Flat Phase accounts for 50%, Jumping phase accounts for 50%. In California, riders must earn 25 points to qualify for Maclay Regionals at the Blenheim Fall Tournament September 12-16, 2012. The Top 10 riders at Regionals are invited to the finals. Riders cannot compete after 60 points are earned.

Carousel Junior/Amateur Medal
Fences 3'3". Five points qualifies for the finals. At least four riders must finish the course.

CPHA Child/Adult Medal
This class is open to child and adult riders who have never won any PCHA, USEF, National, Local or Regional medal class, equitation, hunter and or jumper class with fences 3’3” or higher. The class will be held over a 3’ course with a minimum of eight fences with at least two changes of direction and a combination. At least two riders shall work off using USEF tests 1-8. Three points qualifies for the finals.

CPHA Foundation Medal
Open to junior and amateur riders, fences 3'3". Finals to be held at Blenheim Summer Classic in Del Mar August 22-26, 2012. 21 & Under riders must earn 6 points during qualifying period.

CPHA Medal
Open to Junior and Amateur riders. Fences 3'6". Juniors are ineligable once they have accumulated 10 points.
Amateurs may continue to earn points. Finals are held at the Oaks Summer Classic II in San Juan Capistrano August 15-19, 2012. 6 points are required to qualify for finals.

Foxfield Medal
Open to adult amateur riders who are current senior members of the PCHA. Fences 3'3". Ten points qualifies a rider for the Foxfield Medal Finals in Westlake Village October 6-7, 2012. Qualified riders may continue to compete in the class until they have earned 20 points.

Horse & Hound Medal
No membership is required. Fences 3'0". Hunter or jumper type course. Five points required to qualify for finals.

Marshall & Sterling Junior Medal
The rider must be a League Member in order for points to count. Fences 3'6". The National Finals will be held at HITS-on-the-Hudson, Saugerties, New York.

Norcal Medal Finals
Open to Junior and Amateurs fences 3'6". Finals to be held at Leone Equestrians October 10-14, 2012. 7 points are required to qualify.

PCHA Horsemanship Class
Open to riders 14 & Under who are current PCHA members. Fences 3'3". Riders qualify for finals by acheiving 12 points or by winning a class with five or more entries. Riders may continue to compete until they have won a class of five or more entries.

Pessoa/USEF Hunt Seat Medal
Fences 3'6", riders 17 and under. Finals held at Pensylvania National Horse Show, Harrisburg, October 11-20, 2012. In California, 31 points are required to qualify.

Taylor Harris Insurance Medal
Open to all junior members of the USEF who have never competed in a National Equitation Finals with fences at 3'6". Fences 2'9" to 3'. Approximately thirty riders will be invited to compete in the finals and will be chosen as follows; the high point rider in each of the regional series will be invited, along with additional riders working from the top down on the National Standings list for the qualifying period. Any unfilled slots will be chosen by continuing down the National Standings list.

USEF Adult Equitation
Open to riders 18 and over, fences 3'3". Points count toward annual USEF High Point Equitation Rider award. No medal finals.

USEF Show Jumping Talent Search
Fences 3'6"-3'9" For Riders 20 & Under. Jumping Phase to account for 50%, Flat Phase to account for 50%. Jumper type medal with time allowed, jumper equipment and stallions permitted. Finals to be held at the LA International Jumping Festival in Burbank, September 19-23, 2012. 30 points are required to qualify.

WCE Medal
Open to juniors and amateurs, fences 3'6". Jumper type medal, time allowed, jumper equipment and stallions permitted. Finals are held at The LA National in Burbank November 14-18. 10 points are required to qualify.

Hudson & Company Medal
Open to Juniors and Amateurs. Fences 3'3". Hunter or jumper type course. 6 points are required to qualify.
Marshall & Sterling Children's Horse Medal
Open to Junior Riders on horses that are not competing at the same show in any hunter or equitation class in which the fences exceed 3'3”. The rider must be a League Member in order for points to count. Fences 3'0". The National Finals will be held at HITS-on-the-Hudson, Saugerties, New York.
Norcal Pony Medal
Finals to be held at Leone Equestrians October 10-14, 2012. 7 points are required to qualify.
Norcal 3' Medal Finals
Open to Junior and Amateurs fences 3'0". Finals to be held at Leone Equestrians October 10-14, 2012. 7 points are required to qualify.
Onondarka Medal
Open to riders 12 years of age and under. Fences 3'0". Finals to be held at the LA National November 14-18, 2012. To qualify for finals, riders must win a class with 5 or more riders completing the course or accumulate 12 points during the year.
Pickwick Medal
Open to Juniors and Amateurs. Fences 3'6". Finals to be held at Pickwick Fall Classic. 7 points are required to qualify.
